Optical Mirrors are used for beam turning, interferometry, imaging or illumination. Surface-polished glass or metal is used as the substrate, and the light beam strikes the surface to form a specular reflection.
In order to obtain as much reflected light as possible, a layer of reflective film, including metal film and dielectric film, is often coated on the substrate.
